CAMPS

Week 1: Doodlebugs (June 7 - 11)

If animals inspire your budding artist, then join us for a week of creativity! Each day includes an art project for reflecting on the beautiful, interesting and wonderful aspects of wildlife.

Week 2: Hands on Habitat (June 14 - 18)

Many animals call CECI's campus home. Campers will unearth all the layers of 'Gopher Tortoise Trail' as we discover animal habitats under logs, in the trees, and everywhere in between! Campers will learn how to build habitats using natural materials and consider how we can take care of our animals neighbors!

Week 3: Critter Camp (June 21 - 25)

Campers will have close encounters with backyard buddies and learn about animals that live in and around Sanibel.

Week 4: Water, Water Everywhere (June 28 - July 2)

Plants and animals need water for many reasons. Find out why during this week of fun camp! Campers venture to aquatic habitats for some muddy, squishy, fun. Be prepared to get wet everyday!

Week 5: Sensing Nature (July 5 - 9)

Campers intentionally use all of their senses to experience nature each day. We listen for bird calls, smell flowers, see wildlife, touch interesting plants, and taste foraged food. Campers also learn how different animals use their senses!

Week 6: Cooking with Nature (July 12 - 16)

Cooking provides a sensory rich way for children to learn about the natural world. We'll connect closely with our food, grow a garden, and meet some garden "pests" and helpers. We may even make a mud pie! Wonderful adventures ensue each day!

Week 7: Argh! Pirates! (July 19 - 23)

Imagine exploring new lands and trying to make sense of them! We'll go back in time and look at CECI through the eyes of a pirate. Campers will be introduced to maps and compasses, engineer their own pirate ship, and create a spy glass! Will we be able to find the buried treasure?!

Week 8: Puddle Stompers (July 26 - 30)

Like to get wet? We thought so! Campers explore aquatic themes and frolic like frogs in muddy places they might inhabit.

Note:  CECI will be closed August 2-6 for teacher in-service and school year preparations ahead of reopening for the school year on Monday, August 9, 2021 (one day ahead of Lee County Schools).

Capacities

There is limited capacity for each camp week.

Once a session is full, you may join the waitlist and we will communicate developments to you as soon as possible.  We reserve the right to cancel camp weeks if we do not reach our registration minimums.

If you are purchasing the package, all weeks are included in your pricing.  It is helpful for our ratio planning, and to meet DCF parent communication requirements, if we know any weeks your child will definitely not be in attendance.  If in doubt, please indicate in registration that you will be in attendance and update us later so we ensure a spot is reserved for you for all desired weeks.
